What are the Causes of Kidney Related Symptoms?

The kidneys are responsible for balancing the quantity of water in our bodies and the concentration of salts in those fluids.  As kidney function falters, insufficient salts and water-soluble toxins are filtered out of circulation so the body must retain more water to prevent the concentration from becoming too strong.  This presents as Oedema or Water Retention.

Weakness and tiredness are a function of insufficient red blood cells.  The kidneys produce a substance called erythropoietin (EPO), which is used by the bone marrow to produce new red blood cells.  These cells are what carry oxygen to the cells, and insufficient oxygen not only causes fatigue, but leaves the body open to the most serious of illness.
