L-Ornithine 500 mg Description

Larger doses may reduce the effects of cirrhosis of the liver and disorders associated with liver malfunction. In one study, participants taking 18 grams of ornithine aspartate for two weeks showed significant improvement in blood tests and liver function compared to the placebo group.

Research has also shown that ornithine helps promote healing and tissue repair resulting in faster recovery and reduced post surgical hospital stays.

Instrumental in the citric acid cycle, ornithine helps build muscle and reduce body fat, especially when combined with the amino acids argenine and citrine Ornithine is also a precursor to amino acids that help supply energy to every cell in the body.

Ornithine is Popular amongst body builders as it promotes elevation in human growth hormone and growth of muscle mass. It may also help reduce natural muscle wastage due to aging.

No side effects have been reported with the use of ornithine, although gastrointestinal distress may develop with intakes over 10 grams per day.

L-Ornithine dosage

Take 2 ornithine capsules at bedtime on the first night. Take 4 the second night. Take 6 capsules at bedtime on the third night. Thereafter take 4 or 6 ornithine capsules at bedtime every night until you are sleeping soundly. Then go off ornithine and see whether your sleep is as good without it. Ornithine is not habit forming.
