Lecithin is a nutrient the body uses to help prevent arteriosclerosis,
improve brain function, protect against cardiovascular disease, and
help keep the liver and kidneys healthy even after damage due to
alcoholism.
Lecithin helps bind fats and cholesterol to water so that they remain in suspension and pass through the body, rather than building up in the heart or liver. The choline and inositol in lecithin may protect against hardening of the arteries and assist in the normal processing of fat and cholesterol.
